Monique McPherson
Monique McPherson is a British mother of five, founder of Harmony Hearts, and co-advocate alongside her two youngest sons, Kody and Aron, who are autistic, nonspeaking, and beyond-verbal.
In 2024 she lost her home. What followed was a long stretch of hotels, caravans, holiday parks, and emergency accommodation, with Kody and Aron beside her every step of the way. In the middle of all of it, something started to shift in how she understood her sons, how they communicated with her, and what was actually possible between a parent and a child the world had labelled silent.
The Adventures of Kody and Aron is her debut memoir and the first book published under Harmony Hearts Collective Publishing, the imprint she founded to make space for other nonspeaking families to tell their own stories.
Monique writes alongside Mich Carpenter, a trusted companion whose deep connection with Kody and Aron helped bring their voices forward, and whose presence is woven through the heart of this book.
